NOVA among the 200 best universities in the world in the ranking of the British consultancy QS  

In the most recent ranking elaborated by QS, a world reference in the evaluation of higher education institutions, NOVA registers a strong increase in 5 of the analysed areas and is the first institution at the national level in Social Sciences and Management  

The survey was based on the evaluation of 1 596 universities and is divided into five major fields of knowledge: Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Management, Life Sciences and Medicine, and Engineering and Technology.  

NOVA's performance should also be highlighted by the fact that it is part of the world's Top 150 in the sub-topic Accounting & Finance (101-150). NOVA also appears, with a solid position, in the world Top 200 in 7 other sub-topics   

- Economics and Econometrics (151-200)  

- Business & Management Studies (151-200)  

- Archaeology (151-200)  

- History (151-200)  

- Geography (151-200)  

- Engineering-Chemical (151-200)  

- Agriculture & Forestry (151-200)  

 

It should also be highlighted the sub-areas where NOVA leads at a national level: Accounting and Finance, Business and Management Studies and Economics and Econometrics. 

The evaluation of the universities included in the QS World University Rankings by Subject is based on data from surveys of employers and academics worldwide, as well as bibliometric information from the scientific database Scopus/Elsevier.   

At the world level, the rankings of the five major areas assessed are led by Harvard University (USA), number one in Life Sciences and Medicine and also in Social Sciences and Management; by MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), the best in Natural Sciences and Engineering and Technology; and by Oxford University (United Kingdom), which prevails in Arts and Humanities.
