NOVA University Lisbon will soon have the first university campus outside national territory. Located in Cairo, Egypt, NOVA Cairo should go into full operation starting September 2022, offering degrees in the areas of Management, Engineering and Data Science.
This is a very important project - it is the result of the University's internationalization strategy and will contribute to the affirmation of NOVA in the world.
The agreement for the establishment of NOVA Cairo was signed on October 26, 2021, in Cairo, by the Rector of NOVA, Professor João Sàágua and the President of The Knowledge Hub Universities, Professor Mahmoud Allam.
The signing ceremony was attended and witnessed by H.E. Ambassador Manuela Franco, Portuguese Ambassador to Egypt, the Vice-Rector of NOVA, Professor João Amaro de Matos, along with senior representatives from NOVA University Lisbon. The ceremony also counted with the presence of Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Mr. Ihab Salama, CEO of El Sewedy Education and Vice-Chairman of Board of Trustees.
