NOVA signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the International University of Rabat

The agreement aims at academic cooperation in all areas common to both institutions, including the exchange of professors, researchers and students.

The document was signed by the heads of NOVA University Lisbon and Université Internationale de Rabat (UIR), respectively Rectors João Sàágua and Noureddine Mouaddib, and marked the successful conclusion of the official visit of a NOVA delegation to Morocco, which took place between 17 and 21 July.

This agreement is in line with the internationalisation strategy of both institutions and aims to promote academic cooperation in all areas of common interest, such as the exchange of professors, researchers and students.

"The UIR is particularly strategic for NOVA for several reasons. First of all, because of its geographical and, on many levels, cultural proximity, which facilitates academic cooperation and also attracts and adapts students from the region to NOVA. UIR is also one of our global partners within the framework of EUTOPIA and, in line with the country's vision of investing in academic excellence to support strategic sectors, it is committed to offering double degrees with prestigious universities, which is why NOVA should take advantage of this opportunity to promote and expand its training offer in areas where the need for training is greatest, thus contributing to the country's development (...)", had already said the Rector of NOVA, explaining the importance of this strategic visit in the context of all the cooperation that already exists with the southern Mediterranean region.

It is worth pointing out that UIR became a global partner of NOVA at the end of 2022, within the framework of EUTOPIA European University, the alliance of 10 European universities of which NOVA is a member.
