More than half of NOVA's programme offerings achieved the highest rating in the Contest for Access to Higher Education

The results of the National Contest for Access to Higher Education in 2023/24 have been released

NOVA University Lisbon placed 2,777 students in the first phase of the 2023/2024 national competition for access to public higher education. 4,363 candidates for higher education selected NOVA's programmes as their first choice, making it the comprehensive university in the Lisbon region with the highest demand for available slots. For each slot the institution offers, there are 1.55 candidates selecting it as their first choice.

On a national level, NOVA leads in 15 programmes across various fields: Molecular and Cellular Biology, Conservation-Restoration, Mathematics, Agro-Industrial Technology, Archaeology, Political Science and International Relations, Communication Sciences, Language Sciences, Musical Sciences, Philosophy, Sociology (evening programme), Translation, Economics, Information Management, and Systems and Information Technologies. Nationally, NOVA holds the top position in 37% of its programme offerings, representing growth compared to the previous year.

Regarding the Lisbon region, NOVA also leads in the following programmes: Biochemistry, Civil Engineering, Geography and Regional Planning, History, Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, Management, Medicine, Law, and Data Sciences. Within its regional scope, NOVA leads in 21 programmes, constituting 55% of its total offerings.
