Project by Professor Elvira Fortunato is a finalist for European Commission's Horizon Impact Award 2020

MADE BY and MADE IN PORTUGAL

The INVISIBLE project, by NOVA Vice-Rector, Professor Elvira Fortunato, is the only Portuguese project among the ten finalists for the European Commission’s Horizon Impact Award 2020.

The Horizon Impact Award, this year in its 2nd edition, is dedicated to EU-funded projects whose results have created societal impact across Europe and beyond. The prize acknowledges and rewards the most influential and impactful project results under Horizon 2020, the EU research and innovation programme, and its predecessor, the 7th Framework programme (FP7, 2007-2013).

Recognized as pioneering and an example of global scientific leadership, the INVISIBLE project contributes to the first display produced with eco-sustainable materials, currently commercialised by several companies, giving rise to a new technological area whose results have been adopted in a variety of industries such as ink-jet printing and smart medical diagnostics.

The winner will be announced on September 23rd during the “European Research and Innovation Days” event.
