Nova SBE’s Masters in Finance is the best in the world for International experience

The Masters in Finance of Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) was ranked by the Financial Times as the most international Finance programme in the world, according to four criteria that measure international exposure during the masters programme.

The well-known ranking published annually by the English newspaper highlights:

  • The school’s multicultural environment thanks to the student and faculty body;
  • The opportunities to study abroad in one of Nova’s partner schools worldwide;
  • The networking of students with multinational companies/professionals.

This is the second time that the FT has awarded the Nova SBE Masters in Finance as the best in the world for international experience. The first time was in 2012.

Regarding the global ranking, Nova SBE’s Masters in Finance is for the second year in a row among the top 20 programmes in the world, and 16th in Europe, ahead of schools like Cass Business School and Cranfield School of Management (UK), and Rotterdam School of Management (The Netherlands).

Some key facts about this ranking:

  • Nova SBE’s Masters in Finance is ranked 19th worldwide
  • Nova SBE is the only Portuguese school in this ranking
  • Nova SBE’s Masters in Finance was ranked 16th best in Europe and 16th best worldwide in "placement success".

Professor Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova SBE, emphasizes the importance of having the international character of this program recognized by the FT: "An increasing number of multinational companies recruit Portuguese and international students at Nova SBE. These companies, including the most well-known financial institutions, central banks, corporations like HSBC, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, Deutsche Bank, and top consultancy firms, always mention the excellent performance of Nova SBE students when working in multinational environments".

This year the number of applications of international students to the Masters in Finance doubled in relation to 2014, and the placement success for this program is 100% six months after graduation.
