Launched in 2015, the NOVA Music Band Competition is an annual initiative that aims to promote and encourage music among NOVA students, as well as the growth of new bands in the Portuguese music scene.
The competition is open to individual musicians or bands made up of NOVA students or alumni (including Erasmus students and students from other mobility programmes), with the three bands performing at the end of the competition, where the winner is chosen by the jury and the public.
It is also linked to the Festival Nova Música, where some of the winners have performed or where the finals of the competition have taken place.
The final will take place on 18 April at 6 pm in the Rectory auditorium and is free to attend.
