The Institute of Art and Technology of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, which will soon be installed in the former prison of Trafaria, through the T-Factor Project, has open registrations for a series of Slam Poetry events during the month of June, at Trafaria.
Since its origins in Chicago, in 1984, the Poetry Slam has been expanding in many countries, namely the Portuguese speaking ones, addressing topics of great actuality.
Together with the population of Trafaria (but open to participants from other locations) the work will be done in 3 steps:
1. Slamaris (June 19th & 20th - Casino Trafaria): unlocked workshops to motivate interest and passion for this form of expression, inviting slam artists to showcase their work and teach the fundamentals of the relationship between word, voice and body. Trainers: Nuno Piteira and Viton Araújo.
2. Slamistoso (June 26 - Casino Trafaria): sharing knowledge sharing, participants will have the opportunity to test their performances in an open event, with the same format as a poetry slam but still without ratings.
3. Poetry Slam Trafaria (June 27 - Casino Trafaria): the participants of the previous phases will compete against each other in a championship, in which they will be classified as the 3 best performances. Prizes will be in FNAC store vouchers worth 400EUR, 300EUR and 200EUR (1st, 2nd and 3rd place).
