Launched in 2015, the NOVA Music Band Competition is an annual initiative aimed at promoting and encouraging music among NOVA students, as well as encouraging the growth of new bands in the Portuguese music scene.
The competition is open to individual musicians or bands that include NOVA students or alumni (including Erasmus students and students from other mobility programmes), with the three bands performing at the end, where the winner is chosen by the jury and the public.
It is also linked to the Nova Música Festival, where some of the winners have performed or where the finals of the competition have taken place.
