NOVA presents the university to schools in Kenya

For four days, it was possible to present NOVA degrees and also SUPERNOVA, a unique programme in Portugal for pre-university students, designed to help students from different countries adapt to the European education system, and its SUMMER SCHOOL.

It was a very intense four days for the delegation from NOVA University Lisbon, led by Vice Rector João Amaro de Matos, who visited a handful of secondary schools and colleges in Kenya.

Between the 20th and 23rd of February, NOVA was presented to around 200 students from the MPESA Foundation Academy - an institution that provides excellent education to Kenyan students with no financial means, and also finances their studies at foreign universities - as well as Nova Pioneer, Peponi, St. Andrew and Merisham Colleges, where students from other countries such as Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda and Ghana study.

In the end, the result was more than positive: in addition to having guaranteed candidates for the edition of SUPERNOVA that begins next September, the agreement reached with NOVA also allows the MPESA Foundation Academy to teach Portuguese as part of its International Baccalaureate curriculum - a programme that offers an internationally recognised qualification for applying to higher education and is recognised by several universities around the world.
