A group of seven students from FCT NOVA is developing a system for monitoring symptoms of infection by COVID-19, specifically designed for elderly and info-excluded people. The project,  iwhich is called Homesafe, was developed in the context of BeyondCOVID, a platform created by FCT NOVA to find technological solutions to fight the disease.

The first prototype, successfully designed and developed, will be followed by a phase of testing with end users and with doctors specialized in Aging.

The working group consists of students Carolina Nascimento, Daniela Martins and Joana Coutinho, from the Integrated Master in Biomedical Engineering, David Moura, from the Integrated Master in Computer Engineering, João Corvo and Andrian Moldovan, from the Integrated Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Marie Marechal, from the Master in Advanced Materials and Innovative Recycling.

The work is supervised by Cláudia Quaresma, professor in the Physics Department at NOVA FCT (LIBPhys-UNL) and Ana Rita Londral, director of Value for Health CoLAB (VOH CoLAB). The project also has the support of Pedro Dias (VOH CoLAB), a former Biomedical Engineering student at FCT NOVA, and involves partnerships with Unidemi, CHRC, Curry Cabral Hospital - CHLC, PLUX and FCT FABLAB.
