The Director, of Portuguese or other nationality, must hold a doctoral degree (PhD). Full Professors, Coordinating Researchers, Associate Professors or Principal Researchers from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa or other national or foreign institutions of higher education or research are eligible to apply.
The Director must be well-known in areas of interest to IHMT NOVA (higher education, scientific research, provision of services to the community, internationalisation and cooperation for development, especially with Portuguese-speaking countries, dissemination of scientific knowledge) and have relevant management experience. A good command of Portuguese and English, both written and spoken, is essential.
The Director must have initiative and strategic vision, as well as the ability to implement the policies and statutory mission of IHMT NOVA, to promote national and international contacts and to defend the responsibilities of IHMT NOVA at the NOVA University Lisbon.
The Director is also primarily responsible for raising funds and promoting the external image of IHMT NOVA.
