Universidade NOVA de Lisboa will represent Portugal in the final of the "Santander NEO’s Challenge", an international university talent competition that aims to start a relationship with students who wish to develop their competencies in information technologies by applying their academic knowledge in real banking business cases.
"Santander NEO’s Challenge" is a competion for students in the last year of their undergaduate degree, as well as Master and PhD students. It presents two analytical challenges related with client satisfaction where students need to show their technical expertise applied to the financial reality. For this competition, a total of 546 university students from 90 Universities have applied. The first analytical challenged had 199 groups enrolled.
The final takes place on 14-15 March 2016 in Madrid, and will be attended by the winning teams from the six participant countries: Universidade de Buenos Aires (Argentina), Universidade Católica de Maule (Chile), Universidade Complutense de Madrid (Spain), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal) and Florida International University (USA). The students will have to solve another analitycal challenge and defend their work before a jury. This evaluation, combined with the results from both phases, will determine the winner of the first edition of the "Santander NEO's Challenge".
Thw winning team will attend the "Babson Entrepreneurship Program for Students", at Babson College, Massachusetts (USA), on July 2016. The award also includes transport and accommodation.
