Aquila Medical Innovation elected startup of the year 2018 by Healthcare City

Healthcare City, a startup incubator in the area of health, chose Aquila Medical Innovation as the startup of the year 2018. The award ceremony was held today at the Rectorate of NOVA University Lisbon during the closing ceremony of the Health Innovation 2018.

Aquila Medical Innovation is a startup in the area of ​​Information Technologies that seeks to help health institutions to be more efficient, through the combination of technology and people. This startup developed an algorithm that allows radiologists to interpret imaging exams with greater reliability. The award of the Healthcare City Startup Award 2018 took into account criteria such as the commitment of the entrepreneur, the commercial potential of the idea / project and the evolution of the startup.

Among the nominees, there were also Bashbabu, a startup which created a soothing cushion for children made from 100% natural materials, and Nudge, which uses behavioral economics by implementing measures that influence citizens' decision making.

The Health Innovation 2018 was an initiative organized by Healthcare City in partnership with strategic platform from NOVAhealth, which aimed to discuss the major health challenges and promote innovation, joining industry and academia in the same space.
