In light of news of António Vieira Monteiro's passing, the Rector of NOVA University Lisbon, João Sàágua, recalls the President of Santander's Board of Administration as «a man who was always on the side of solutions». He also adds that «António Vieira Monteiro had a strong sense of social responsibility, having always been available to support NOVA University Lisbon».
António Vieira Monteiro was, for eight years, a member of the School's Council of NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities and was currently a member of NOVA's General Council. He was also a strong driver of the Santander/NOVA Collaborative Research Award.
The Rector of NOVA University Lisbon and the President of the General Council, Estela Barbot, and all its members, present the most heartfelt condolences to the family.
