The 15th Edition of Starters Academy concludes with an exciting showcase of entrepreneurial talent

The winning project links artificial intelligence to meal planning for babies and in second place came a platform for personalised cognitive training.

The highly anticipated finale of the 15th edition of Starters Academy took place at the Rectorate of NOVA University Lisbon on May 31st. The event brought together the current batch of students and also alumni from previous editions, along with mentors, partners, and professors.

Starters Academy, known as the oldest entrepreneurship academy at NOVA that creates multidisciplinary teams, aims to foster collaboration among students from different schools within the university, which work on innovative projects throughout the second semester, leading up to the grand finale pitch.

Eight teams competed with their exceptional projects for the coveted prizes. Ultimately, the team behind "Yumby" project emerged victorious, claiming the first-place position. "Yumby" is an AI-powered platform that devises weekly meal plans specifically tailored to babies, considering their growth, health requirements, and taste preferences. Not far behind, the team responsible for the innovative "Cognio", a personalized cognitive training platform, secured the second-place.

Both teams have now secured tickets to the prestigious European Innovation Academy in Porto, scheduled from July 16th to August 4th. The first-place team received besides the four tickets, valued at €2,500 each, more €500 per team member for event expenses.

Starters Academy continues to nurture and empower the next generation of innovators within NOVA University Lisbon, showcasing their remarkable talent and creativity.
