It was with great regret that the NOVA University Lisbon received the news of the passing of Jorge Coelho.
The President of NOVA's General Council, Estela Barbot, recalls Jorge Coelho as "a man of consensus, of a natural sympathy that captivated all those who met him. His contribution as Vice-President of the General Council of NOVA, which we are very grateful for, constituted a real added value for the accomplishment of the University's mission".
NOVA's Rector, João Sàágua, recalls Jorge Coelho as “an essential personality in Portuguese democracy”. And he adds: “He was a thoughtful and determined person, whose experience and knowledge contributed a lot to endorse, consolidate and value NOVA's strategic vision”.
To the family and friends of Jorge Coelho, the Rector of NOVA University Lisbon, the President of the General Council, Estela Barbot, and all its members offer the most heartfelt condolences.
