CEMAR opens Call for 20 Marine Sciences Research Scholarships

The consortium aims to ensure the training in fundamental sciences of scientists from Portuguese-speaking countries.

The Consórcio de Escolas de Ciências do Mar (CEMAR), which NOVA University Lisbon is a member, aims to sustainably and continuously develop R&D activities that ensure the training in fundamental sciences of scientists from Portuguese-speaking countries. Committed to promoting research excellence in the field of Marine Sciences, CEMAR announced on September 1st the opening of the second edition of the Doctoral Research Scholarship Contest in this area.

The call offers a total of 20 research scholarships funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, I.P.), in accordance with the FCT Research Scholarship Regulation (RBI) and the Research Scholarship Holder Statute (EBI). These scholarships aim to promote research in Marine Sciences and are part of a Collaboration Protocol between FCT and CEMAR, within the scope of the Ciência LP.

The doctoral research scholarships, renewable for up to a maximum of four years (48 months), are intended to finance the research activities leading to the attainment of na academic degree of doctorate in the Marine Science Schools of Portuguese Universities that are part of CEMAR, under their Doctoral Programmes.
