The Conference “The Future of Medicine and Central Life Themes: Aging, Lifestyle, Ethics” is an initiative organized by the Amélia de Mello Foundation in partnership with NOVA University Lisbon and NOVA Medical School. The session is part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Alfredo da Silva, a leading figure in entrepreneurship and innovation, also in the area of Health.
The conference aims to foster permanent dialogue between medicine and other scientific and technological areas, with a view to creating value for patients. Technological advances applied to the health care area also necessarily involve the legal and ethical discussion of the principles, problems and dilemmas derived from the enormous power of intervention on life and nature, seeking to reconcile scientific knowledge and human values.
