Tiago Cunha Reis e a Stamply Box

Mater Dynamics, a start-up founded by Tiago Cunha Reis, a former student at NOVA, developed the Stamply Box, a smart box to conserve perishable food and protect it from contamination, that was distinguished today as one of the winners of Santander X - Tomorrow Challenge.

The Stamply Box consists of a closed and isolated box that, due to the incorporation of nanosensors, has the ability to transmit information about the interior, monitoring the status of its contents.

This is one of the 20 projects recognized among the more than 2000 that were submitted in this global competition promoted by Santander to support solutions that respond to the consequences and changes in society caused by the current health crisis.

Tiago Cunha Reis received his Master's Degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering at FCT NOVA and completed his PhD in Bioengineering (MIT Portugal) at the same school.. He founded the start-up Mater Dynamics when he was still doing his PhD, giving the company a strong scientific base.

Currently, Tiago Cunha Reis is part of the Nova Mentor Network, sharing his knowledge and experience in order to support and consolidate other entrepreneurial initiatives in NOVA's innovation ecosystem.
