Nova students win 6th edition of Angelini University Award

Organized by the pharmaceutical firm Angelini, the theme for this year’s edition of the annual competition was "Sustainability of the Portuguese Health Service". Nova SBE Bachelors in Economics finalist students Carlos Teixeira and Miguel Resende claimed top spot for their platform devised in order to provide health service diagnostics, training for health professionals, and information sharing between all people and entities working within the Portuguese Health Service.

Benefiting from the expert guidance of NOVA Professor Pedro Pita Barros from the Nova Healthcare Research Initiative, Carlos and Miguel successfully submitted a proposal that enabled them to combine the concepts of healthcare with the possibility of making a genuine contribution to actual health issues.

Upon receiving their award the victorious students reserved a special mention for the top-level scientific research into Health Economics at Nova, which proved a vital ingredient in their finishing in the highest position of this prestigious national competition.

Ana Luísa Antunes and Leandro Luís, students of NOVA's Escola Nacional de Saáde Páblica won the second award with the project "Adequação dos Internamentos Hospitalares por diabetes e o seu Impacto Financeiro para o SNS", under the guidance of Professor Carlos Costa.
