NOVA University Lisbon was again present in the Triple E awards, an international conference that recognizes the efforts towards the quest for entrepreneurship and engagement in higher education.  

During the ceremony, which was attended by NOVA's Rector, João Sàágua, and the President of the Institute's Board of Directors, Vera Pires Coelho, the prizes for the best thesis of 2020 and the Early Career Research Awards were awarded, and the members of ITQB NOVA with 25 years at home were honoured.

As it prepares to send a delegation to Rabat, NOVA is taking new steps in its internationalisation strategy for the Southern Mediterranean region. On the one hand, by strengthening its relations with local higher education institutions and, on the other, by building bridges between them. Whether from the Portuguese-speaking world or its neighbours. To understand the whole process, the key word is cooperation.

The event "Looking Ahed: The Role of Partnerships in Portugal" showed the impact of the Aga Khan University network and the mobility projects with our country - several with the signature of NOVA. 

Gerard Ryle (2017 Pulitzer Prize), Richard Roberts (1993 Nobel Prize in Medicine) and Aaron Ciechanover (2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry) are some of the first confirmed speakers at the 8th edition of the Estoril Conferences, on 1 and 2 September, under the theme "Re-humanising our world: Planet, Peace, Politics, People.

The meeting with representatives of this university aims to strengthen the exchange of students and professors, joint scientific projects and collaboration in the field of research between the two institutions. 

The meeting took place in Lyon and brought together 19 representatives of the 4 alliances of European universities involved in the project: Arqus, Enlight, SEA-EU and EUTOPIA, the alliance of which NOVA is a member. 

The week-long meeting of the ten universities of the alliance of which NOVA is part, dedicated to the theme "A Better Europe", ended with a great success.  

Due to the inescapable legacy of the University in this area, the City Council has decided to award the Gold Medal of the City to NOVA University Lisbon. The ceremony took place this Saturday and was attended by the Rector of NOVA, João Sàágua, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato. 

NOVA is now competing in the SDG Education Programme of the Year category. Voting runs until 25 June.

Applications are open until July 1^st. The event takes place on September 28^th at ITQB NOVA.
